![]() We spent quite a while digging around for pieces we thought should be in our boxes before we realized that we didn’t need one of the hardware bags listed on the instructions. The instructions contain information on multiple models of the Spirit II, and it wasn’t clear what exactly our boxes should contain. When we first opened the boxes that contained the parts to our new Weber grill, we were a bit confused. Packaging: Everything included but slightly confusing Take a peek at our guide to buying a grill. We found that the thinner side was ideal for making dishes that required a more delicate touch, while the wider side worked well for thick, hearty meats such as steak. Thick on one side and thinner on the other, they allow more flexibility in cooking technique. The reversible grill plates are an awesome inclusion. The grill held an even temperature (visible via the built-in lid thermometer) on low while using just one burner. While we’d love to take credit, we owe our newfound grill skills to the Weber Spirit II’s precise temperature control. We’re talking just a few minutes to get up to 500 degrees. This grill lit right up for us with no hassle and got extremely hot extremely quickly. Whether it was burgers, hot dogs, or veggies, just about everything we threw on this grill came out as desired. ![]() After adding just a little oil, the grill grates were perfectly seasoned, which we weren’t expecting. And it heats very evenly across the board, too (high performance burners, indeed!). ![]() It lit right up for us with no hassle and got extremely hot extremely quickly. We found that the grill boasts a solid ignition. This includes what the company calls “infinity ignition,” meaning it should ignite every time, “high performance burners,” which ensure an even heating surface, “porcelain-enameled flavorizer bars,” designed to catch drippings and mitigate flare-ups, and a “grease management system,” which should streamline cleaning. Unlike the original Weber Spirit, the Weber Spirit II E-310 Gas Grill features a GS4 Grilling System. This is a great grill, which is why I have 2.The Spruce Eats / Angelica Leicht Performance: Impressive temperature control and quick learning curve Weber makes high quality grills that will endure the test of time- the awesome meals and memories you make on this grill will make this grill feel like your trusty best friend, waiting for your next cooking adventure in the back yard. If you are in the market for a grill with ample cooking space and plenty of horsepower, this is the grill for you. 3 Stainless Steel buners (“flavorizer Bars”).If you are looking to get your first ever gas grill and have a smaller budget, the Weber Spirit is an excellent choice at $499. The price point for the Genesis EP 330 is $999, while this is not inexpensive, but if you are looking for a grill that will go the distance with you and offer years of grilling enjoyment, this is the one! You can easily cook for 4+ people on this grill without having to grill in batches as this grill offers plenty of BTUS and grill space. I like supporting my local guys when I can versus going to Home Depot. Their other special color for this season is the “smoke” color. This new EP 330 is Crimson Red, is an option that is available only at a specialty retailer. The color- as you can see from my choices- my first Weber came in a beautiful hunter green that I bought at a specialty retailer, not just off the shelf at Home Depot. I love that the Genesis offers a fuel gauge- this way you will never be left without gas during a cook! The bottom line is that Weber makes a quality grill that will go the distance with you for years to come. I refer to these types as “throwaway grills” because you will have to throw them away after 2 years of use. They are a long term investment versus the cheaper, crappy $199 grills you can buy at Home Depot that are made in China. What I love about this grill (and all Webers) is that they are built to last, and you can replace the parts over time. When people ask me what grill they should buy, my first question is- are you looking for Gas or Charcoal? If they say Gas, I recommend the Weber Genesis (and if for charcoal- the Performer is my recommendation). From there I went on to get a Weber Performer, a BGE, a Weber Smoky Mountain… you get the picture! ![]() As many of you may know, the Weber Genesis is what I call my “gateway grill” –ie, that was my introductory drug into grilling. I’m cheating on my first Weber Genesis with a brand new, Crimson Red, Weber Genesis. The Weber Genesis – The Grill That Started My Love Affair with Grilling The Genesis is the Grill that ignited my passion for Grilling!
